Non-monetary factors influence on technology adoption working paper

Have been thinking about how non-monetary factors affect decision to invest in technology and how using that technology affects not only profitability but also utility. I co-authored this 2004 staff paper discusses the human capital and non-financial costs of using variable rate technology. Over the last two years, I've been challenged trying to describe how quality of life and human capital costs affect technology adoption; by mating these statistics with perceived profitability. During these two years, differing versions of a working paper have been submitted for peer review with a resounding rejection on each attempt; several co-authors have added their flavor from their respective expertise. The current version of the working paper entitled "Influence of non-monetary factors on agricultural technology adoption" has been completely revised and available for comment.

The exploration of non-monetary factors in technology adoption is such a vital area of study, especially as I navigate the intensive rigors of my current PhD research into how human behavior shapes digital integration. Balancing my doctoral studies with a part-time job at last minutes assignments has given me a front-row seat to the modern student experience, where the psychological and social barriers to mastering complex systems often prove more challenging than the financial ones.
